A student must be in at least 7th grade to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The students in the Confirmation class will
review the basic teachings of the Church as well as prepare for the Sacrament. A morality section is also taught in this class.
The class emphasizes the responsibility of the student to make decisions of their own. As there is a year of preparation before beginning
the Confirmation class, it is recommended that children begin when they are in sixth grade or higher.
Students receiving the Sacrament
of Confirmation are required to perform 24 hours of Community Service prior to the reception of the Sacrament. Students are
also responsible for choosing a Confirmation Name and a Confirmation Sponsor.
Confirmation is usually held in late February or early March depending on the availability of the local bishop. A mandatory parent/student meeting is held in January to discuss the rules and policies surrounding this Sacrament.
